Head-to-Head matches are the perfect way to sneak in a quick round of golf, even when you’re short on time — and now they’re getting even faster! Introducing Quick Match, a new H2H format with NO tiebreakers.
How does Quick Match work?
Quick Match rounds will be played just like regular Head-to-Head matches, but there are no tiebreaker rounds, even if you and your opponent end with the same number of strokes.
If my match ends in a tie, how do we determine who wins?
If you and your opponent each have the same number of strokes at the end of a hole, the winner will be determined using the tiebreaker points scored during your approach shot, just like in Tournaments. You get tiebreaker points if your approach shot goes from off-the-green to on-the-green, and is par-2 strokes or less—on a Par 4 that would be your second shot; on a Par 5, your third shot. The closer your shot lands to the hole, the more points you get! Whichever player has more tiebreaker points from their approach shot will win.
If the tiebreaker points from each of your approach shots are equal, then the player with the longer Drive Distance will win. Drive Distance is the distance accumulated from your first stroke off the tee—it is the total distance from the tee to the final position of the ball. The ball must end up on the fairway, fringe, or green in order to count—Out Of Bounds shots off the tee will result in zero Drive Distance.
If your Approach Shots and Drive Distances are both tied, then the player who completed the hole in the shortest amount of time will win.
When can I play Quick Match?
Quick Match is available to users on Version 4.20, so make sure you’ve got the latest update in order to play! This new format will first be seen in special Side Hustles, but you might just see it coming to H2H Tours soon, too.
