The Pete Dye Challenge Course in the Real World
Located in Rancho Mirage, California, the Pete Dye Challenge Course at Mission Hills Country Club was built to test the skills of even the most seasoned golfers. Designed by the legendary Pete Dye himself, this course stands out for its bold design, strategic complexity, and dramatic visuals—all hallmarks of Dye’s architectural style.
Opened in 1988, this 6,955-yard, par-72 course is renowned for its strategic design elements, including rolling fairways, elevated greens, and deep bunkers. Dye's signature use of railroad ties accentuates the water hazards, adding both aesthetic appeal and challenge to the layout.

The Pete Dye Challenge Course in Ultimate Golf!
Now, we are thrilled to bring the beauty of the Pete Dye Challenge Course to you! To kick things off, we've got a special lineup of Ultimate Golf events spanning two full weeks.
For the first week, Ultimate Pass holders will get exclusive early access to the Pete Dye Challenge Course in six unique UG tournaments. The course will then be open to ALL Ultimate Golfers in three different UG tournaments the following week! Check out the full schedule here:
Monday May 26th through Thursday May 29th
Ultimate Pass Exclusive Tournament at Mission Hills CC
Exclusive to Ultimate Pass holders, this 3-round Tournament will have two days of 9-hole events, concluding with a 48-hour 18-hole round on Wednesday & Thursday. All three rounds will take place at the Pete Dye Challenge Course!
Tuesday May 27th
Ultimate Pass Exclusive: 9 Hole Tournament at Mission Hills CC
Ultimate Pass holders can play the Front 9 holes of the Pete Dye Challenge Course in this Ultimate Tournament!
Wednesday May 28th
