To celebrate the latest course to join our community, we’ve got some amazing events lined up for everyone. See the full schedule—plus a bit of the history behind this renowned golf course—below.
Pebble Beach in the Real World
The Pebble Beach Golf Links opened in February 1919 as a new amenity of the Hotel del Monte in Monterey, California, built by railroad baron Charles Crocker. Designed by Jack Neville and Douglas Grant to maximize players views of the beautiful rocky Pacific coastline, the original course had a unique figure 8 shape to ensure as many holes as possible looked right over the ocean.
The legendary links have undergone multiple renovations and redesigns over the years, including the creation of the new 5th hole by Jack Nicklaus in 1998, to become the course adored by golfers and fans around the world today. Perhaps the only thing about Pebble Beach that's more admirable than its stunning views is its illustrious history as one of golf's premier championship venues.
Pebble Beach hosted its first professional tournament in 1926, but it became one of America's favorite courses after the astonishing performance of reigning champion Bob Jones (who later became a founder of the Masters Tournament) at the 1929 U.S. Amateur, the course's first ever major championship.
Since then, it has hosted U.S. Opens in 1972, 1982, 1992, 2000, 2010, and 2019. It was also the site of the 2023 U.S. Women's Open. The course has hosted 14 USGA Championships, and is the only course to host back-to-back championship events multiple times.
In 1947 it hosted the Bing Crosby National Pro-Am tournament, which became the annual Pebble Beach Pro-Am, played every year on the course to this day. This year's Pro-Am kicks off very soon!

For the first week, Ultimate Pass holders will get exclusive early access to Pebble Beach in six unique tournaments. Exclusive to Ultimate Pass holders, this 3-round Tournament will have two days of 9-hole events, concluding with a 48-hour 18-hole round on Thursday & Friday. All three rounds will take place on the stunning Pebble Beach Golf Links!
