This Week in Ultimate Golf!

Exclusive to our Ultimate Passholders, this 3-round Tournament will have two days of 9-hole events, concluding with a 48-hour 18-hole round on Wednesday & Thursday.

Once we had a love, and it was this Showdown at Spyglass Hill! ​Three separate 9-hole qualifiers will run Monday through Wednesday, but you only need to qualify ONCE to move on! The Semi Finals are a 48-hour, 18-hole event held across Thursday and Friday; make the cut and move onto the Finals (another 48-hour, 18-hole event), held across Saturday and Sunday. Play a shootout each day through Friday! Monday and Thursday will have TWO shootouts each; Tuesday and Friday will only have ONE shootout each. Wednesday will have THREE shootouts available for play.

* Team Scoring will be boosted for all Shootouts

* Wednesday's Gold Shootout will be a Scramble format with custom tee placements

Syllabus for U of G's Remedial Physics

Description: This remedial physics course is designed to provide students with a foundation in basic golf physics concepts and principles. It is intended for students who may have limited prior exposure to golf or who need to strengthen their understanding of fundamental topics.

Schedule: Players will be given 48 hours to play 18 holes across a variety of different courses.

Objectives: By the end of this tournament, players should be able to...
1. Prove their understanding of fundamental principles and concepts of golf physics through hands-on, experiential learning at some of the easiest golf holes.
2. Solve basic physics problems related to wind adjustments, spin, draw, fade and overpower.
3. Apply physics concepts to precision shot attempts over 18 holes.
4. Prepare for more advanced physics challenges in upcoming tournaments.

Play six 2-minute rounds where the top 6 scores from each round move on. Scores will be added together over all six rounds to crown the overall winner at the end! Tournament Royales will run from 11:00AM ET to 2:00PM ET, and from 7:00PM ET to 10:00PM ET.

Play just one hole at Bear's Best Atlanta in this quick 30-minute tournament, where the first player to get the highest tiebreaker score wins. All holes will be Ultimate Scramble style! Tournaments will run every half hour, all day long. For more details, check out this page.

Enter the 9-hole Quarter Finals on Wednesday to compete for a spot in the 9-hole Semi Finals Thursday, and the 18-hole Finals on Friday! All Hole 7s for the Quarter Finals, all Hole 14s for Semi Finals, and ALL rounds of this Challenge will feature holes from our US courses.

Syllabus for Critical Thinking Challenge

Description: This course leverages the game of golf to teach and enhance critical thinking skills. Golf is a sport that naturally requires strategic planning, decision-making, psychological resilience, and problem-solving. This course will allow students to apply critical thinking principles in real time, and will cover topics such as logical reasoning, stress management, and strategic thinking. This will be achieved by placing students in uniquely challenging situations on the golf course.

Schedule: Students are expected to attend two 9 Hole qualifying rounds on Friday and Saturday, followed by an 18 Hole Final Exam on Sunday. Location will be anywhere BUT a traditional tee deck.

Objectives: By the end of the course, students will be able to…
1. Apply critical thinking skills and utilize logical reasoning to make sound decisions on the golf course.
2. Develop strategic thinking by creating and implementing plans and adapting them in response to changing conditions during a game.
3. Enhance psychological resilience by managing stress, anxiety, and emotions to maintain focus and performance under pressure, especially when facing a tough crosswind from a sand trap on a long Par 5 after an errant tee shot.

10 players enter and compete over 9 rounds. The lowest score each round is eliminated, leaving just one ultimate winner! You get 30 seconds to shoot, and only your best shot counts. One Shot Royales will run from 11:00AM ET to 2:00PM ET, and 7:00PM ET to 10:00PM ET.

Description: This U of G class delves deeper into the complexities of urban environments, focusing on the critical challenges and potential solutions faced by golf course designers and players in urban areas. This class explores various dimensions of urban golf life, including hazards, distractions, environment, and course topography.

Schedule: Players will be given 48 hours to play 18 holes at Turnpike Valley.

Objectives: By the end of this tournament, players should be able to...
1. Analyze and critically evaluate shot challenges on contemporary city courses.
2. Explore the intersection of ball, club, and pin factors in urban golf contexts.
3. Examine the role of planning and policy in urban golf course design.
4. Develop research and analytical skills through replay sharing, Country Club discussions, and on-course play.
